014UC – A Clean, Contemporary Fireplace with Natural Wood Character
Fireplace Project
2025
Port Moody
This fireplace project by Pacific Living Contracting combines a clean marble-look surround with a custom natural edge wood mantel to create a refined focal point for the living room.
The design uses a simple material palette—light stone, dark natural wood and a black fireplace surround—to create contrast while keeping the overall look warm and understated.
Project Brief
A Refined Fireplace Feature The fireplace is positioned centrally between two windows, giving it a strong architectural presence within the room. The large-format stone surround creates a clean, continuous backdrop around the fireplace, while the simple rectangular proportions keep the design balanced with the surrounding windows and existing room architecture.
Project Result
A Simple, Timeless Material Combination The finished fireplace demonstrates how a relatively simple combination of materials can create a strong visual impact. Light marble-look stone + dark natural edge wood + black fireplace surround gives the feature definition while allowing the existing flooring, windows and furnishings to remain part of the overall design.
